Technical principle
Inspired by the unique hair structure of Saharan silver ants, i2Cool integrates materials science, optics, and heat transfer principles to develop multi-component, multi-scale nanoparticle materials.
This results in efficient solar reflectivity and mid-infrared emissivity through the atmospheric window up to 95%, reducing heat absorption and promoting heat dissipation, achieving zero-energy cooling without electricity or refrigerants.
This breakthrough surpasses the 90% reflectivity limit of previous thermal insulation coatings.
